|I can always relate to Joe|
Where my Youtuber fandom at?! (I'm not in one by the way) Whether they're gamers, bloggers, comedians, vloggers, beauty gurus etc. you've probably seen some Youtube videos, maybe even been inspired by them. It seems like lots of Youtubers have been making books. So far, I've never bought anything from a Youtuber because I'm not really a big fan but I might buy Zoella's cosmetic bag. Anyway, I mainly watch rap videos, comedy and beauty tutorials. I've noticed some huge names on Youtube like Pewdiepie (the most subscribed channel on Youtube), Markipiler, Nikkietutorials et al. But my favorite Youtubers for now are Joe Santagato, Tina Tries It and Shaaanxo (Shannon Harris) 🙌🏻. So what's the point of making this entry again? Well, I wanna tell you things I find annoying that others do too on Youtube.
- Click bait
One of the things I really hate and I'm sure you've seen it before where Youtubers mention something in the title just to get views or even something more. They may even put something like, "almost killed by my uber" but that's a different story if they're serious. They may even put a celebrity of another Youtuber in the title. The thing that gets me is when the video isn't even about them. They just use some catchy title just to make you click on it. Like if you put in the title "*insert famous celebrity's name* got me beat up" but it turns out you got into a fight with someone over their CD in the store, then it's not really about them. Sure, it may have been over the CD of that famous celebrity but it's not like you met the real celebrity and got into a physical fight with them. I mean, what if you see the title says "mermaid found in my backyard" only to find out it's just some creepy guy dressed in mermaid custom posing in a plastic swimming pool at someone's backyard? I'd be so pissed. Who wouldn't be?
- Throwing shade
Another thing some Youtubers do (I know not all but you probably know some who do) which is constantly talking about another Youtuber and throwing shade. Like, I get it if you have some beef going on with them but it's petty to spend your time making a video just to talk shit about someone and then gain more than thousands of likes and millions view. Are you trying to defend yourself or are you boring so that you want to get views or new subscribers by using their name? I know there are some of famous Youtubers you need to avoid at all cost *COUGH* Jeffree Star *COUGH* Marina Joyce *COUGH* Sam Pepper *COUGH*
I too enjoy a good prank and some Youtubers are pretty good at pranks. In my opinion, pranks are supposed to be harmless and funny. I used to watch several Prankvsprank's videos and they were funny but sometimes they went a little overboard. I like watching pranks but not the so-called "pranks" that some Youtubers claim they are like going around touching someone's ass and claim it was a fake hand. That is so not cool and I hope you will get sued for that.
- "Check out my/this _______"
Actually, I don't mind that much about when they promote their stuff. I get it and it's their channel after all and they're just trying to shine some light on what they're promoting. Another thing some do is when they're obviously being paid to promote something like, "speaking of games, by the way you guys should check out *insert name here*'s channel if you haven't heard of it". Even if you do get paid and want us to check it out, at least try to make it interesting 💁🏻.
